Professional triathlete Daniel Bækkegård heads to Fusion’s aerodynamic testing facility for an intensive three-day session focused on finding performance gains ahead of the IRONMAN World Championship season.
Working alongside renowned aerodynamicist Simon Smart, founder of Drag2Zero, and the Fusion team, Bækkegård tests the interaction between rider position, equipment and hydration setup to identify opportunities to reduce drag and improve overall aerodynamic efficiency.
The session provides a behind-the-scenes look at how Fusion’s wind tunnel is used as a complete performance environment rather than solely for apparel development. Athlete, position, equipment and clothing can be evaluated together as an aerodynamic system, allowing small changes to be measured and optimized under controlled conditions.
Published by Bækkegård on his own channel and produced in collaboration with Fusion, the video provides first-hand documentation of Fusion’s testing infrastructure and Simon Smart’s aerodynamic expertise being applied directly to the performance development of an elite professional triathlete.
