Velomore explores the technology behind Uno-X Mobility Cycling’s Project Breakaway, a performance initiative developed around the team’s ambitions for the Tour de France, with Fusion’s aerodynamic expertise at the centre of the apparel development.

For the Tour, Fusion developed a range of race-specific solutions built around different speeds, conditions and rider demands. The new Breakaway Suit is designed for high-speed racing and features aerodynamic materials, strategically positioned seams, prototype sleeve constructions and a distinctive rear-zip design intended to minimise drag.

Alongside the Breakaway Suit, riders can select an updated Road Race Suit for broader race conditions and a Hot Condition Suit developed to balance aerodynamic performance with cooling and comfort on mountain stages and in extreme heat. The system is completed by newly developed Breakaway Aero Socks.

Velomore connects the development directly with extensive research and feedback from Fusion’s own TEMPO! Wind Tunnel, documenting how aerodynamic testing is translated into specialised performance apparel for professional racing at Tour de France level.

Uno-X Mobility Cycling further documents Fusion’s role in the project, describing Fusion as the driving force behind Project Breakaway and confirming that the Breakaway Suit was developed in close collaboration with the team. According to Uno-X, the suit was designed, tested and produced in Europe with input from Fusion’s in-house wind tunnel and engineered specifically for high-speed racing.

Together, the two sources provide both independent technical coverage and first-hand team documentation of Fusion’s role in developing aerodynamic performance apparel for one of cycling’s highest levels of competition.
