Biography

Jesper Svensson is one of the most respected athletes in the professional field.

The sympathetic Swede is built like Dolph Lundgren, but is probably too nice to land the role of sidekick in the Expendables. Svensson is known as an incredibly fair racer who would rather stay at 12 m if biking with a 10 m draft zone.

Critics may claim that this lack of cynicism has cost him on the winners chart, but it is difficult not to be impressed when he succeeds with his solo missions on the bike. His breakthrough in the 2018 season offered two Ironman victories, where Svensson was able to maintain the lead in both cases.

Together with his partner Daniel Hansson, he set a new route record in the legendary “ÖtillÖ” – the official World Cup in SwimRun. Especially in Stockholm, the popularity of this niche sport has exploded.

In 2021, Svensson captured silver in the World Triathlon Long Distance Championships after a spectacular “mano a mano” duel with Kristian Høgenhaug over more than 30 km of the final marathon. The two World Championship combatants pushed each other to the limit, and Svensson was noted for his phantom time of 7:39:25!

Fun fact

Jesper Svensson is a man of few words and therefore could probably be mistaken for a Dane if you didn’t know any better. For several years he worked with his Danish coach Frank Jakobsen and guided a Danish bike enthusiast or two at the spring's compulsory training retreat, Next Level Camp in Mallorca.
