When Magnus Cort lines up for the final stage of the Vuelta a España on Sunday and, as planned, brings his professional career to an end, he will be honoured before the start with a specially designed jersey. Created by FUSION in collaboration with some of the people who know him best, the jersey brings together a series of personal stories from before and throughout his remarkable cycling career.

Magnus Cort has been one of the most influential and popular Danish cyclists of his generation.

He has won stages in all three Grand Tours, worn the polka-dot jersey at the Tour de France, claimed victories in major one-day races and crowned his final season by becoming Danish national champion. But when he pins on a race number for the final time on Sunday’s concluding stage of the Vuelta a España, the tribute will not focus solely on his results.

Before the stage, Magnus Cort will be presented with a specially designed jersey that tells the story of the person behind the cyclist.

The initiative comes from FUSION, the company that produces Uno-X Mobility’s official cycling apparel. During the development of the jersey, Magnus Cort’s childhood friend Emil Toudal was asked to help identify the places, people and details that have held particular significance throughout Magnus’ life.

“Magnus has given Danish cycling an incredible number of memorable moments. We therefore wanted to create a personal tribute that was about more than victories and results. The jersey had to tell the story of where he comes from, who he is and the people who have been part of his journey,” says Jesper Riis, Sponsorship and Atlethe Manager at FUSION.

Bornholm Close to His Heart

One of the jersey’s most personal elements is based on a piece of art created by Magnus Cort’s younger sister. The artwork has hung in the family home and features a bicycle chain forming the outline of Bornholm, the Danish island where he was born.

The motif has been given a prominent place on the jersey, creating a connection between the cyclist, his family and the island where his story began.

The jersey also features the coordinates of Rønne and the neighbourhood where Magnus Cort grew up. Known as Svenskehusene - the Swedish Houses - the area consists of 225 wooden homes donated by Sweden to help rebuild Bornholm after parts of the island were destroyed by bombing raids at the end of the Second World War.

The jersey therefore also tells a story about home, history and the surroundings that shaped Magnus Cort long before he became a professional cyclist.

“We did not want to create a traditional commemorative jersey featuring a list of victories. Cycling fans already know Magnus’ results. What interested us was getting closer to the stories and details that have made him the person and rider he is. That is why his family, friends and Bornholm have been given such a central place in the design,” says Jesper Riis.

Finishing at the Highest Level

Earlier this year, Magnus Cort announced that 2026 would be his final season as a professional cyclist. Shortly afterwards, he won the Danish national road race title for the first time in his career, earning the right to finish his career in the red and white national champion’s jersey.

As planned, his career will come to an end on Sunday during the 21st and final stage of the Vuelta a España – the race in which Magnus Cort has celebrated some of his greatest triumphs.

The special jersey will be presented to Magnus Cort before the start of the final stage as a personal thank you for the experiences, the victories and the distinctive personality he has brought to international cycling.
